Originating in Florence, Italy, the Gucci brand was founded by Guccio Gucci. Since Guccio established the brand in 1921 all the way up until present day, Gucci products have been a fashion staple around the world. However, it wasn't about 1995 that the company truly exploded to its present day levels of popularity and became an indisputable household name.
In 2001, Gucci broadened its horizons even further with the acquisition of parts of competing labels Balenciaga, Di Modolo, Bottega Veneta, and a partnership with famed British designer, Stella McCartney.
Today, you can't open a celebrity magazine or turn on the television without spotting someone carrying a Gucci handbag. The logo is unmistakable.
